AI development services, built new or added to what you run. Nine ways to put AI to work, from one senior team. Here is the problem. Too many vendors for one business problem. Tools that do not talk to each other. And pilots that never reach production. Here is how it works. First, custom AI software. Second, AI added to existing systems. Third, agents and voice AI. And finally, architecture that holds up in production. What do you get? One team and one way of working. Fixed prices agreed upfront. Everything we build is yours. Start small with a $1,500 AI Pilot. The easiest way to start is a $1,500 AI Pilot on your own data. You see a working version in ten business days, and the fee is credited to the full build. Still unsure? Our explainers on what AI workflow automation is and what an AI agent actually does separate the two options buyers mix up most often.

How AI solutions combine into one enterprise AI platform

Most of our projects mix two or three services. The trick is designing them to share one foundation from the start.

Enterprise AI grows from a first use case, and whether that growth is cheap or painful depends on decisions made in week one. We build every project, however small, on the same five layers so later services plug in instead of starting over.

  • Data and retrieval. Connectors, cleaning and a search index over your documents and records. Our RAG and AI search service builds this layer, and every later agent reuses it.
  • Model gateway. One place in your code where calls go to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or an open weight model such as Llama, with logging, cost limits and fallbacks.
  • Tools and actions. Typed, permissioned functions that let an AI agent read from and write to your CRM, calendar or ERP.
  • Channels. Web chat, email, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams and phone. A voice agent is a new channel on the same brain, not a separate product.
  • Evaluation and observability. Test sets, traces and dashboards that tell you whether the system is getting better or worse after each change.

Here is an example scenario. A property management company starts with an AI receptionist for maintenance calls. Three months later it wants tenants to ask lease questions over WhatsApp. Because the receptionist already sits on a retrieval layer and a tool layer, the WhatsApp assistant reuses both, and the second project costs a fraction of the first. The same tools later drive an automated workflow for contractor work orders.

Closed agent builders are quick for a first demo, but each keeps its own copy of your prompts and logs. Our comparison of agent builders and custom development covers when that trade is worth making.

Four engagement models, matched to how certain your scope is

The commercial model should follow the shape of the work. Here is how we decide between them with you.

Fixed scope project

One defined deliverable, one fixed price and a date. Best when the problem is clear, such as a single voice agent or one automated workflow. Scope changes go through a written change request, so the price never drifts quietly.

Phased programme

A larger goal split into releases, each priced and signed separately. You commit to phase one only, see it working, then decide on phase two. This suits enterprise AI platforms and builds that combine several services.

Dedicated team

A stable group of our engineers working through your roadmap, billed monthly. Best when you have a product backlog and an internal product owner, and you need senior capacity more than a single fixed deliverable.

Retainer

Ongoing work after launch: evaluation reruns, model upgrades, new features and cost tuning. Managed support starts at $1,500 per month and an engineering retainer at $4,000 per month. See how our delivery process works for details.

Typical ranges, not quotes. Usage is billed at cost; running costs usually add 15% to 30% of the build cost per year; Avenga (2026) puts annual maintenance at 10% to 30% of system budget. For market context, Clutch’s AI pricing guide (2026) reports an average AI project of about 0,600. Full tiers are on each page: custom AI software pricing, AI agent pricing, RAG and AI search pricing, generative AI app pricing, voice AI pricing, workflow automation pricing, AI integration pricing and architecture review pricing. From first call to a live system in five steps

The same process runs behind every service, whether the project takes three weeks or nine months.

  1. 01

    Free scoping call

    30 to 60 minutes

We learn the problem, the systems involved and what success looks like in numbers. You get an honest view on fit, a starting point and a rough range.

You get: Opportunity summary, Rough price range

  2. 02

    Fixed price proposal

    Usually 2 business days

A written scope with deliverables, acceptance criteria, timeline, named team and one fixed price. Larger programmes may begin with a short paid scoping phase, so the price rests on facts rather than guesses.

You get: Scope and acceptance criteria, Fixed price and timeline

  3. 03

    Design and data

    1 to 3 weeks

Interface sketches, architecture, data access and a first evaluation set built from real examples you provide. This is where we learn whether your data can support the accuracy you need.

You get: Architecture note, Evaluation set, Clickable prototype

  4. 04

    Build in two week sprints

    2 to 16 weeks

Working software every two weeks, demoed live on staging in your cloud, with evaluation scores so progress is measured rather than described.

How to choose an AI development company

Seven questions worth asking any vendor, including us.

  1. 1

Can they show an evaluation report, not just a demo?

A demo shows the happy path. An evaluation report shows how often the system is right on real, messy inputs, before launch and after every change. Ask to see a sample.

  2. 2

Who writes the code, and will that change after signing?

Some firms sell with seniors and deliver with juniors. Put names and roles in the contract. Our roundup of the best AI software development companies uses this test.

  3. 3

Do you own the code, prompts and data from day one?

The repository should live in your GitHub or GitLab, the infrastructure in your cloud account, and the contract should assign IP to you on payment. Otherwise switching vendors later means starting again.

  4. 4

Is the price fixed, and what triggers a change?

Open ended hourly billing moves the estimation risk onto you. Ask for a fixed price tied to written acceptance criteria and a change process that prices changes first.

  5. 5

How do they handle security and privacy?

Ask which model providers they use, whether those providers train on your data under business terms, how access is limited and logged, and how they test for prompt injection. The OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications is a good list to bring.

  6. 6

Will they tell you when AI is the wrong answer?

Some problems are better solved with a form, a rule or an existing SaaS product. A partner worth hiring says so in the first call, even when it costs them the project.

  7. 7

    What happens after launch?

Models change and data drifts. Ask what support costs per month and how you would hand the system to your own team.

Questions we hear every week

What AI development services does Vrisic offer?

Vrisic offers eight AI development services: custom AI software, AI agents, enterprise RAG and AI search, generative AI applications, voice AI, AI workflow automation, AI integration, and AI architecture and engineering. You can buy them separately or combine them into one platform. The same senior team delivers every engagement on your cloud account, and you end up owning the code, prompts and evaluation sets.

What is enterprise AI?

Enterprise AI means AI systems built for the scale, security and governance needs of a larger organisation: single sign on, role based permissions, audit logs, data residency, evaluation and support. The models are often the same ones a startup uses. The difference is everything around them, such as who can see which data, how answers are checked, and how the system is monitored and changed over time.

What counts as an AI solution for a business?

An AI solution is software where a model does part of a business task, such as answering a call, drafting a reply, finding a clause or extracting invoice fields, inside a process with clear inputs, rules and a measurable result. A chatbot on its own is rarely a solution. The value comes from connecting the model to your data, your systems and a person who checks the risky steps.

How much do AI development services cost?

Typical starting ranges run from $5,000 to $20,000 for one automated workflow up to $25,000 to $60,000 for a custom AI software pilot. Larger programmes, such as a company wide knowledge platform or a contact centre voice system, start at $75,000 to $150,000 and rise with scope. These are typical ranges; you get one fixed price in writing after a free scoping call.

Which AI service should a company start with?

Start with the service that removes the most repeated, measurable work with the least risk. For most companies that is an automated process or AI added to a system they already run, because results show within weeks and nothing has to be replaced. Companies with large document collections often start with RAG search. If you already have an AI prototype, start with an architecture review. The free scoping call exists to answer exactly this question.

Can one project combine an AI agent, a knowledge base and a voice channel?

Yes, and many do. We design a shared foundation of retrieval, a model gateway and permissioned tools, then add channels such as web chat, WhatsApp or phone on top. You can buy it as one phased programme or as separate fixed price projects. Building on one foundation usually makes the second and third services noticeably cheaper than the first.

Do you work on fixed price or time and materials?

Build work is fixed price against a written scope and acceptance criteria. Dedicated teams and retainers are billed monthly because the work is ongoing and the backlog changes. We avoid open ended hourly billing on first projects, since it puts the risk of estimation errors on you. If scope changes mid project, a written change request prices the difference before any work starts.

Do you provide AI consulting without building anything?

Yes. Our architecture review is a two to four week engagement, typically $8,000 to $20,000, that ends with a written assessment of your AI plans or an existing system, covering architecture, data readiness, evaluation, security and cost. Some clients hand the report to their own engineers. There is no obligation to hire us for the build that follows.

Can one team serve companies in the US, UK and UAE?

Yes. We are remote first and set working hours to overlap with each client’s team. Pricing is quoted in dollars, pounds or dirhams, and each build follows local rules: HIPAA and state privacy laws in the US, UK GDPR in the UK, and the PDPL, DIFC or ADGM regimes in the UAE, with in country hosting where the data requires it.

What is the smallest AI project you take on?

Our smallest projects are single automated workflows from about $5,000 and focused architecture reviews from about $8,000. Below that, an off the shelf tool is usually a better use of your money, and we will say so. Small first projects are welcome, because they let you test how we communicate, estimate and write code before you commit to a larger build.
